The General Division of the Department of Physics is responsible of the Department’s administration. It covers the fields of research matters, study matters, personnel matters and the financial management. The Division also takes care of the Department’s own computing services.

The administration of the Department is a part of the University administration structure (the Rector’s office, University services, Faculty administration). It supports the management of the Department, the preparation of the Departmental Council’s decision-making, and provides the appropriate conditions for the teaching and research staff to do successfully their essential duties in the University.

The Department’s administration has been arranged in a matrix organization.

For the purposes of research, personnel and finance administration there are five Divisions in the Department: 1) General Division, 2) Division of Materials Physics, 3) Division of Elementary Particle Physics, 4) Division of Atmospheric Sciences, and 5) Division of Geophysics and Astronomy.

The teaching and teaching administration have been arranged according to the Major Subjects.
